What comes to mind when I wear this is the movie classic,The Women...not the re-make but the original starring Joan Crawford. If jadore is a princess, Foubourg is the queen. I had a vintage bottle of this perfume along time ago, it was before I was a fragrance hoarder. I had heard that 24 Faubourg is what Diana wore in her last years so of course I wanted to try it. However, if you like strong perfumes, this is not for you. This is no blushing-bride or girl-in-a-white-frock kind of white floral. Just the right amount of every ingredient here. My two other full-size Hermes (eau de Gentiane and Elixir Marvellious) are nothing like this. It is elegance and beauty, it sparkles with understated style and glamour, it is both uplifting and comforting, rich and gentle all at once. It is designed to belong to the 70's and even 60's which is a marvelous idea as is. They are only there to get a good look at Joan, who's the "other woman" that has their best friend's husband in her clutches. I don't know why but I decided to buy a 50 ml Eau de Parfum. And 24 Faubourg will outlive them all in her gold filigree. I love white florals (and they love me back) and it's great to discover a new type of white floral - something that's still got power but isn't as brash and in your face as your Fracas or Versace Blonde types. It becomes more well-rounded once the orange blossom and ylang-ylang settles a bit, then I can detect and enjoy the floral concoction consisting mainly of jasmine, gardenia and hyacinth. I've made a sample for a client at work, washed my hands immediately after, and had it still scenting my fingertips more than 24 hours after. with a sense of movement, like a breeze blowing through silk. I tried 24 Faubourg a few times, and still think it's not for me. I bought this years ago on a whim but decided it wasn't for me after just a couple of weeks of use. I have an EDT version, quite strong in the opening and quickly sets down and became so soft and powdery. I was testing out different perfumes and when I first tried this I didnât like it at all. I can never wear this; honestly it nauseates me so of course it is one of those that set up camp on my epidermis and refused to budge when I tried to evict it from the premises. I can see why this was a favourite of Lady Di. This first class fragrance feels like it was developed and formulated by the House of Chanel! a sophisticated scent- go lightly for work because it lasts long and has plenty of sillage- would recommend more for an evening, maybe dancing on s floor or balcony outside, surrounded by fairy lights in your high heels. This has a peach scent I really like and don't feel it's very citric, at least not as citrusy as other fragrances. I own the parfum as well and it is a bit smoother and less sweet. If you want the amber in l'ambre des merveilles mixed with femininity and class, this is it. Where do I begin. for the vintage EDT - The opening is so screechy and masculine it is cough inducing - it smelled just like cheap pungent aftershave and I was worried I had bought a fake. This is my go-to evening fragrance. 24 F. has a lot of fans, and I was curious to check it out, so I bought a partial of the edt in the pretty etched bottle, hoping for a new favorite. I keep two of the EDP, one of the EDT and 2 extrait. Not sure if the new ones are as strong . I have both the EDP and edt (both current) and both have incredible longevity. This perfume is so lush, so floral, so sensual, and so so so beautiful. Airy candied white flowers, almost too sweet and too floral for me. Shop foundation, mascara, eyeshadow, lipstick, nail polish & more. While this is classy and rich smelling, it does not work on my skin. Performances are moderate... longevity can stay up to 6-8hours depend how much you spray. To remove all-day matte colors, you may need a makeup remover. She was very desired by men back in the 80's because of her elegance and magnetism. It is such a mess on me in hot weather. It is old school and opulent, very powdery and a bit stinky. I thought I hated it: loud, screechy, overwhelmingly cloying. However, it is too formal for me. I'm leaning toward this being a classic staple for me. Used to attend YSL shows in the past, good times. Now I understand all the good reviews in here. White floral notes are so concentrated in it, that I can't say it actually smells delicious. While I LOVE the smell of gardenia and jasmine plants, I find that they can often be sickeningly overpowering in fragrances.
